Homecoming Dance

Saturday, October 5th, 2019

Today was our first full day in the USA, which every student experienced in a different way. Most students prepared for the Homecoming Dance at night. My exchange student and I went to the Nail Salon of her parents by 12 to get our nails done for the dance. After that we went grocery shopping and ordered take away food from “Noodles & Company“. At Skylar’s home, we put on our dresses and did hair and make up. The dance started at 8pm. When we arrived, the cafeteria was already crowded by students wearing pretty dresses or suits. Some of the songs, the DJ played, we already knew from parties in Germany. Even if the people did not dance that much, we had a lot of fun taking pictures in the foto booth or just talking to our friends.
At about half past ten, we went to eat something with Skylar’s family at a restaurant, to take full advantage of the happy hour.
To conclude, the day was perfect to get an insight into the preparations for Homecoming Dance and to get to know our exchange students and host families much better.
